Happy Birthday Grandma

Today is my Grandmother B's birthday!!! It is on days like this that you wish you could be home to help celebrate or to at least be able to give and get one of the best hugs ever!!!! When I think of my Grandma I see and witness one of my hero's. I thought I would list some of the things that I love so much about her!

#1 She has raised 6 wonderful children, which one is my lovely mother and she loves them all very much which you know through the selfless acts that she performs for all of them including her grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

#2 She is a wonderful cook, I would never turn down a meal at Grandma's house you might all think that of your grandmothers too but I must say that mine would have to be the best!! What can I say,she makes the best slush punch.

#3 It was and is always fun to be at her house especially around the holidays. I love being around my family and that is when a lot of them are there.

#4 She plants a beautiful garden with some help from Grandpa I'm sure but she knows how to can the best pickles and corn.

#5 There is nothing that she would not do to help those in need.

#6 She always puts others first.

I could go on and on with the wonders of her beautiful spirit. If there is anyone who shows a mirrored reflection of our Savior it would have to be her!!!!! I love her with all of my heart !!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA!!!!!!!!

Very Dirty Van

Chris took some of the boys on our High Adventure Camp this year and he drove about or over 2000 miles. They had a lot of fun and I will have to have him post his adventures later. With dirt roads and dirty boys the van you can guess came back very dirty. We are talking dusty dirt in every cranny along with bug guts and a lovely smell of boys that have not taken a shower!!!! Chris has not had a chance to clean it yet with work and all. GRHHHHHH!!!! So I decided to take the day today to give the van a nice cleaning. Needless to say it did take me the whole day!!! Most of it working on the inside of course. I am happy to say that it is gleaming now. I did not take any pictures. SORRY! The kids had a lot of fun helping and they kept saying " Daddy is going to be so proud of us" "We are cleaning so good" It was fun to watch them be so excited to serve their Dad!

In God We Still Trust

The song you are about to listen to is from a Las Vegas Diamond Rio concert. They received an immediate Resounding standing ovation, and continue to do so every Time they perform it! Everyone who loves America should be Thrilled to hear this song! I really liked it! I have never put a video clip on here before so hopefully this will work. Thank you mom for sharing it with me!!!

Fun At The Schooleys

We got to go to the Schooley's today. Which if you know the Schooley's then you know that we had a great time. The kids loved playing in the water and latter ball while Alli and I caught some rays and played catch up on our lives.
I think Hayden played latter ball most of the time until he raided the snack cupboard. Alyssa had the boys playing school for a while and Sawyer was a great host by sharing all of his things with Alec. So, thank you for a nice day guys! We had a blast!

Sunday Afternoon

What does a 4 year old do on a Sunday afternoon? Jen you'll appreciate this one I am sure. As you can see Hayden decided that he should wear some mascara and color on himself. Where he thought he might be going I'll never know!!!!

It Never Fails

Why is it that when your husband is gone that things seem to go wrong. Chris is gone for 8 days to High Adventure Camp and he needed to drive so he took the reliable car of course and left us his Toyota. I needed to run some errands while Alyssa was at a birthday party. When we went to leave Target I put the key in the ignition and crack!!!!!! The key split in half inside the ignition. I tryed to fit it together praying that I could just start it to get home. It did not work. Luckily our friends the Schooley's came to the rescue and got it to start. The only problem is that you have to hot wire it to start since part of the key is still in the ignition. We got a ride to church today and the Schooley's were nice enough to let us borrow their car for the week which we are eternally grateful for. So, thank you Schooley's you are a lifesaver.

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Happy 4th everyone! Our family had a nice day we started our celebration a little early on Thursday evening. We set up our new tent and had a little camp out in our back yard. We played the game Sorry and read some books. We had a good time. The next morning we took down camp after the kids played a little and around noon we went to the base pool for 3 hours or so. Hayden was finally brave enough to go down the big slide without me and he had a blast he started going down on his belly and realized it was much faster that way. When he would get down he would say" That was fun I do it again" needless to say I believe I stayed at the bottom of that slide waiting for him for about 30 mins. After we got home we had to get Chris all packed up for High Adventure Camp on Saturday. Around 5 we went to the Moon's for a barbecue with our friends where the kids played in the water again. When we got home everyone was exhausted!!! Since Chris had to be up at 5am and the fireworks do not start until around 11pm since that is when it gets dark around here we did not get to watch them this year. Sad huh. After everyone had said goodnight and their goodbyes to DAD they fell asleep pretty fast. I ran down stairs on the couch and tryed to watch the fireworks from our living room window. I got to see a few which hey that is better than none. Needless to say we had a fun time and we will miss Chris. See ya in a week Dad!
